The study dealt with a central theme in education related to knowledge economy in Alazhar university. The study aimed to explore the extent that Alazhar university. The study aimed to explore the extent that Alazhar university do in achieving and realizing the selected pillars of the knowledge economy as perceived by a representative sample of faculty members. The study problem was identified after presenting the previous studies which showed that there is a shortage in the Arab studies related to the subject in the Arab countries and the Arab republic of Egypt as well compared to foreign studies, despite the importance of knowledge economy. Four questions were proposed to be answered. They were concerned with the conceptional framework, new trends, current situation and the proposed modal. The researcher presented the methodological procedures for the study where the survey descriptive method was used, and a questionnaire was constructed after reviewed and paneled by a group experts. The data were analyzed using SPSS. The results showed that the pillars of knowledge economy at Alazhar university were achieved in middle degree. A proposed model were established.
