This study aims at investigating how to develop genre-based academic writing course for economic purposes using flipped classroom approach. The study follows a descriptive (quantative/qualitative) methodology. The respondents of this study are 10 first-year master students from various economic specialties. The data are collected through a questionnaire addressed the students. the results revealed that academic writing has a role in economic learning and teachers often use it in their courses to enhance students writing in proper manner, also It has been found that student do learn academic writing in their economic branch but only to a certain degree which is expected, many of the student also focus on some genres of academic writing as case studies and reports, it also showed us that all of the students believe that academic writing will follow them to their future careers.
