The current study aims to identify the negative effects of using electronic social media on Umm Al-Qura university students from their perspectives. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive analytical method for its suitability to the current study. The sample of the study was randomly selected which consisted of (478) university students. The questionnaire was used as a main tool applied to students. The results of the study showed the following: The level of negative effects of using electronic social media on om- alqura university students from their perspectives for all dimensions was high where the academic dimension came with an average of 3.81, the social dimension with an average of 3.71, the moral dimension with an average of 3.52 and the psychological dimension with an average of 3.65. The study also found that, there were no statistically significant differences at the level of "0.05" according to the college variable and the university level variable. In addition, the study found that the existence of differences of statistical significance in the second area, which provides the "social dimension" in favor of a single category and differences of statistical significance of "age dimension" were in favor of the category "26 - 30 years". In light of the previous results, the study recommended a number of factors, including: encouraging researchers to study the reality of the means of electronic social communication and the theories of influence, because it affects the behavior of university students, the concepts and culture they adopt, and their national and religious identity and related values and behaviors. The universities are represented by the unit of intellectual awareness to develop the appropriate plans to create positive attitudes among the students of the university, and to raise awareness of what is presented to them via social media means of suspicious campaigns seeking to deviate intellectually and morally, and to involve them in offering the solutions stemming from their needs in order to achieve optimal use of these means. Activate the role of student clubs to invest leisure time among university students through the establishment of cultural competitions, and encourage them to engage in voluntary programs to serve the community; to prevent them from falling into the virtual isolation that can be followed by the use of electronic social media. Enhancing the moral values and developing self-censorship among university students by establishing the principle of dialogue based on legal and mental evidence to bring the picture closer to their minds and strengthen their belief in the dangers of these means. Increase the interest in programs and recreational activities for university students, which contribute to their psychological and social preparation. To raise the awareness of university students and all members of the society in ways of dealing best with these means, and the benefits of this. (Published abstract)
