هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد معالم الإطار العام لبرنامج إعداد معلم الرياضيات في المملكة العربية السعودية في ضوء متطلبات مجتمع المعرفة. ولتحقيق أهداف البحث استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي بالاستفادة من تجارب الدول الأجنبية في برامج إعداد المعلم. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن برنامج إعداد معلم الرياضيات في المملكة العربية السعودية لم يرتق إلى المستوى المطلوب. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من المتطلبات التربوية لبرنامج إعداد معلم الرياضيات في ظل مجتمع المعرفة. This study aimed to define the parameters of the general framework of the mathematics teacher preparation program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the requirements of the knowledge society. To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher used the descriptive method by making use of the experiences of foreign countries in teacher preparation programs. The study concluded that the mathematics teacher preparation program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia did not meet the required level. The study also found a set of educational requirements for the program of preparing mathematics teacher in light of the knowledge society. (Published abstract)
