هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى استقصاء أثر استخدام حقيبة تعليمية محسوبة على تحصيل الطلبة الذين يتعلمون اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية في القراءة. من أجل تحقيق أهداف الدراسة، أعاد الباحث تصميم مادة القراءة التعليمية لكتاب الصف التاسع الأساسي في الأردن. تكونت عينة الدلراسة من 140 طالباً وطالبة (شعبتين صفية ذكور وشعبتين صفية إناث) من الصف التاسع الأساسي اختيرت بشكل قصدي من مدرسة ذكور وأخرى إناث في مديرية التربية والتعليم في إربد الأولى في الأردن وقد تم اختيار المدرستين بناء على توافر شبكة الإنترنت ومختبرات الحاسوب ومدرسات ومدرسي اللغة الإنجليزية الحاصلين على شهادة الرخصة الدولية في قيادة الحاسب وشهادة الإنتل. قسمت عينة الدلراسة إلى مجموعتين درست إحداهما الحقيبة التعليمية المحسوبة. خضعت المجموعتان لاختبار قبلي لتحديد تكافؤ المجموعات واختبار بعدي لمقارنة تأثير طريقة التدريس على تحصيل الطلبة في القراءة. أظهرت النتائج فروقاً ذات دلالة في تحصيل الطلبة في الاختبار البعدي لصالح المجموعة التجريبية التي درست بالطريقة المحسوبة. This study investigates the effect of using a computerized package on EFL students’ achievement in reading. The researcher computerized and redesigned the instructional reading material of the PETRA 5 Textbook, which is taught at schools in Jordan in the ninth grade as a compulsory course. The sample of the study consisted of 140 male and female ninth grade students chosen purposefully from two schools (one for boys and one for girls) in Irbid’s 1st Directorate of Education. These two schools were chosen because of the availability of the networked computer labs and instruction provided by EFL teachers who had received the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) certificate and taken Intel courses. Both groups of the study took a pretest to establish the equivalence of the two groups and a post-test to answer the questions of the study. The findings of the study revealed a significant difference in reading comprehension between the two groups, regardless of gender, in favor of the experimental group taught using the computerized package.
