هدف البحث الحالي الكشف عن مستوى مهارات التفكير الناقد لدى طلبة كلية العلوم التطبيقية بنزوى في سلطنة عمان، حيث تكونت عينة البحث من 332 طالباً وطالبة من طلبة برنامجي التصميم ودراسات الاتصال، ولتحقيق أهداف البحث تم استخدام اختبار كاليفورنيا لمهرات التفكير الناقد نموذج 2000 وذلك بعد التأكد من خصائصه السيكومترية، التي كانت مناسبة لغرض البحث العلمي، وأظهرت نتائج البحث أن درجة امتلاك الطلبة عينة البحث لمهارات التفكير الناقد دون المستوى المقبول تربوياًّ والذي حدده الباحث ب: 80%، كما كشفت النتائج أيضاً عن فروق في مستوى التفكير الناقد وفقاً لمتغير الجنس وذلك لصالح الإناث، ولم تكشف نتائج البحث عن فروق دالة إحصائياًّ في مستوى امتلاك مهارات التفكير الناقد ككل تعزى لمتغير الاختصاص، أما على مستوى المهارات الفرعية فقد كشفت النتائج عن فروق دالة إحصائياًّ في مهارتي الاستقراء والتقويم ولصالح طلبة دراسات الاتصال. The purpose of this research is to assess the level of critical thinking skills that Omani economic history students at Nizwa College of Applied Sciences display in their research activities. The researcher selected 332 fourth year students (male and female) as subjects for the study. The California Test of Critical Thinking Skills 2000 was used as a tool to conduct this research. The researcher checked its psychometric characters before using it. The results indicate that the average level of the critical thinking among the students surveyed in the study is 80%. The research further suggests that gender is a factor in determining critical thinking skills as it was shown that females possess a higher level of critical thinking than males. The findings also indicate a student’s specialization to be a neutral factor in the determining the level of critical thinking skills. (Published abstract)
