هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن أثر استراتيجية مكارثي في تنمية قيم المواطنة لدى طلاب الصف العاشر الأساسي في الأردن في مبحث التربية الوطنية والمدنية. استخدمت الدراسة المنهج شبه التجريبي. ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة قام الباحثان بإعداد دليل معلم لاستخدام استراتيجية مكارثي في تدريس مبحث التربية الوطنية والمدنية، واستخدم مقياس قيم المواطنة. وتكون أفراد الدراسة من (45) طالبا من طلاب الصف العاشر الأساسي في مدرسة مرصع الثانوية للبنين التابعة لمديرية التربية والتعليم في محافظة جرش، وقد وزع أفراد الدراسة عشوائيا إلى مجموعتين (23) طالبا في المجموعة التجريبية، و(22) طالبا في المجموعة الضابطة. وطبق دليل استراتيجية مكارثي في تدريس التربية الوطنية والمدنية على المجموعة التجريبية، بينما درست المجموعة الضابطة بالطريقة الاعتيادية. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود أثر ذي دلالة إحصائية (0.05=α) لاستراتيجية مكارثي في تنمية قيم المواطنة لدى الطلاب. أوصت الدراسة بضرورة قيام معلمي التربية الوطنية والمدنية باستخدام استراتيجية مكارثي في تدريسهم مبحث التربية الوطنية والمدنية. This study aims to investigate the impact of McCarthy’s strategy on developing the citizenship values among the tenth-grade students in Jordan within the subject of national and civic education. The study employed a quasi-experimental design. To achieve the study's objective, the researchers prepared a teacher's guide for using the McCarthy strategy in teaching National and Civic Education and utilized a citizenship values scale. The study sample consisted of 45 tenth-grade students from Marsa’ Secondary School for Boys, affiliated with the directorate of education in Jerash Governorate. The participants were randomly assigned into two groups: 23 students in the experimental group and 22 students in the control group. The McCarthy strategy guide was applied to the experimental group in teaching national and civic education, while the control group was taught using the conventional method. The study results showed a statistically significant effect (α=0.05) of the McCarthy strategy in developing citizenship values among the students. The study recommended that teachers of national and civic education should use the McCarthy strategy in their teaching of the subject. (Published abstract)
