The effectiveness of a strategy that integrates brainstorming and critical thinking in developing speaking skills in the Arabic language among tenth grade students in the Zarqa Second in Jordan [Article]
The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a strategy that integrates brainstorming and critical thinking in developing speaking skills in the Arabic language among tenth grade students at Al-Maqrizi Basic School for Boys affiliated with the directorate of education for the Zarqa second region in Jordan. The researchers followed the semi-experimental approach, and the members of the current study consisted of (36) students from the tenth grade they were selected using the available sample method, who were divided into two equal groups, control and experimental, with (18) students in each group. The study tool consisted of a test to measure speaking skills represented in (linguistic fluency skill, intellectual fluency skill, vocal skills and body language). The results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α=0.05) between the arithmetic means of the scores of the experimental and control groups in the speaking test, due to each of the combined brainstorming and critical thinking strategies versus the usual method, note that the effect size of the dimensions ranged between (19.2%- 21%), the researchers recommended the need to train teachers to use the new combined strategy, which includes (brainstorming strategy and critical thinking strategy).
