The study aimed to identify the degree of using authentic assessment tools and the obstacles to their application among teachers of the upper basic stage in the schools of the directorate of education and military culture during the second semester of the academic year (2022-2023 AD). Related previous studies, a questionnaire consisting of 45 items and divided into two dimensions, namely: the degree of using tools of authentic assessment and obstacles to the use of authentic evaluation, and its validity and reliability were confirmed. It was distributed to the study sample consisting of (315) male and female teachers which constituted (22%) of the study population, and the descriptive survey method was use. The results of the study showed that the degree of using the authentic assessment tools among the basic stage teachers in the schools of the Directorate of Education and Military Culture was moderate. Moreover, the results showed a statistically significant differences in the degree of using the authentic assessment tools due to gender and in favor of females teachers, in addition the results showed no statistically significant differences in the degree of using authentic tools according to the variables of educational qualification and years of experience. Finally, the use of authentic assessment tools was moderate, and a statistically significant differences between the arithmetic means were found due to gender variable in favor of males.
