The study aimed to know the degree of effectiveness of a program based on the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) in developing the communication skills of autistic children in centers affiliated with the Capital Governorate from the viewpoint of special education specialists, and this was measured by building a program effectiveness degree scale. Pecs in the development of communication skills, divided into six basic dimensions, namely: the skill of exchange with physical assistance, the skill of expanding the automatic concept, the skill of distinguishing images, sentence structure, responding to the request, responding and automatic responses. And the psychometric properties of the scale were verified by presenting it to 10 arbitrators with expertise and competence and extracting the indications of honesty and reliability. And extracting the value of (t) for independent samples, where the results showed that the average degree of the impact of the Picture Exchange Communication Program (PECS) among children with autism spectrum disorder came at a high level, reaching (3.72), and there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α=0.05) according to the gender variable in favor of males, and there are no statistically significant differences according to the age group variable.
