هدف البحث التعرف إلى التعقيد العاطفي لدى طلبة الجامعة، ودلالة الفروق الإحصائية في التعقيد العاطفي تبعا لمتغير الجنس (ذكور - إناث)، والتخصص (علمي - إنساني). ولتحقيق أهداف البحث قام الباحثان ببناء مقياس (التعقيد العاطفي) على وفق نظرية وتعريف (Mitchell, 2009) جرى التحقق من الصدق الظاهري وصدق البناء، وجرى التحقق من الثبات بطريقة إعادة الاختبار، إذ بلغ معدل الثبات (0.84) في حين بلغ معامل الثبات بطريقة ألفا كرو نباخ (0.92) وبعدها جرى تطبيق المقياس على عينة البحث الأساسية المكونة من (400) طالب وطالبة من طلبة جامعة ديالى ومن كلا التخصص العلمي والإنساني للدراسات الصباحية، إذ اختيرت عينة البحث بالطريقة الطبقية العشوائية ذات التوزيع المتناسب وعند معالجة بيانات الدراسة إحصائيا (الاختبار التائي لعينة واحدة، ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون، والاختبار التائي لعينتين مستقلتين، ومعادلة ألفاكرونباخ). أسفرت النتائج أن أفراد عينة البحث لديهم تعقيد عاطفي عالي قياسا بالمتوسط النظري للمقياس وبفروق ذي دلاله معنوية، والتعقيد العاطفي لا يتأثر بالجنس (ذكور ، إناث) فهو واحد عند الإثنين، أما بالتخصص فإن التخصص العلمي لديهم تعقيد عاطفي. وفي ضوء النتائج، خرج البحث بعدد من التوصيات والمقترحات. The aim of the research is to identify the emotional complexity of university students, and the significance of the statistical differences in emotional complexity according to the gender variable (male - female), and specialization (scientific - human). To achieve the objectives of the research, the researchers built a scale (emotional complexity) according to the theory and definition (Mitchell, 2009). The apparent validity and construction validity were verified, and the stability was verified by retesting, as the stability rate was (0.84), while the stability coefficient was By the Alpha Cronbach method (0.92), then the scale was applied to the basic research sample consisting of (400) students from Diyala University and from both the scientific and human specializations for morning studies. One sample t-test, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test for two independent samples, and the Alfa Cronbach equation. The results revealed that the research sample individuals have a high emotional complexity compared to the theoretical average of the scale and with significant differences, and emotional complexity is not affected by gender (male-female) as it is the same when Both, as for specialization, the scientific specialization has an emotional complexity. In light of the results, the research came out with a number of recommendations and proposals. (Published abstract)
