هدف البحث إلى تحليل محتوى كتب الدراسات الجغرافية في ضوء مبادئ التنمية المستدامة. استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي (تحليل المحتوى)، وأعد قائمة بمبادئ التنمية المستدامة وتحليل المحتوى في ضوئها بعد التأكد من صدقها وثباتها. تكونت عينة البحث من كتب الدراسات الجغرافية المقررة على طلبة الصف الحادي عشر والثاني عشر الأدبي والبالغ عددهم ثلاث كتب. توصل البحث إلى النتائج وفق النسب التالية: الصف الحادي عشر الأدبي: محور البحث والتطوير 78.8% ومحور الحصول على المعرفة وتوظيفها 72.5%‏، ومحور مهارات التفكير المستقبلي 68.8%، ومحور المهارات والقيم البيئية 67.5%، ومحور مهارات التعلم الذاتي والتدريب 62.5%. الصف الثاني عشر الأدبي: محور البحث والتطوير 82%، ومحور المهارات والقيم البيئية 70%، ومحور مهارات التعلم الذاتي والتدريب 66% ومحور مهارات التفكير المستقبلي 58%، ومحور الحصول على المعرفة وتوظيفها 56%. وبناء على النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث، أوصى الباحث بإعداد برامج تدريب لإبراز مفاهيم التنمية المستدامة وتفعيلها، وضرورة تضمين محتوى منهاج الدراسات الجغرافية المؤشرات الفرعية التي لم تحظى بالاهتمام الكاف. The aim of the research is to analyze the content of geographical studies books in the light of the principles of sustainable development. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method (content analysis) and prepared a list of the principles of sustainable development and analyzed the content in their light after making sure of their validity and stability. The research sample consisted of three books of geographical studies assigned to the eleventh and twelfth grade students. The results of this study were as the following percentages: Eleventh literary grade: research and development 78.8%, knowledge acquisition and use 72.5%, future thinking skills 68.8%, environmental skills and values 67.5%, and self-learning and training skills 62.5%. The twelfth literary grade: research and development 82%, skills and environmental values 70%, self-learning and training skills 66%, future thinking skills 58%, obtaining and employing knowledge 56%. Based on the findings of the research, the researcher recommended preparing training programs to highlight and activate the concepts of sustainable development. And the need to include in the curriculum content of geographical studies the sub-indicators that did not receive sufficient attention. (Published abstract)
