استهدف البحث التعرف على مستوى النهوض الأكاديمي ومستوى عادات العقل لدى كل من الطلاب المتفوقين والعاديين بالصف الأول الثانوي العام، بالإضافة إلى التعرف على العلاقة بين النهوض الأكاديمي وعادات العقل لديهم. وتكونت العينة من (216) طالباً وطالبة منهم (102) من الطلاب المتفوقين، و(114) من الطلاب العاديين، وطبق عليهم مقياسي النهوض الأكاديمي وعادات العقل (إعداد الباحثة)، وباستخدام المتوسط الحسابي والانحراف المعياري ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون واختبار(ت)، تم التوصل إلى أن مستوى النهوض الأكاديمي لدى الطلاب المتفوقين كان مرتفعاً، بينما كان متوسطاً لدى الطلاب العاديين، وكذلك توصل البحث إلى أن مستوى عادات العقل لدى الطلاب المتفوقين كان مرتفعاً، بينما كان متوسطاً لدى الطلاب العاديين، وأيضاً توصل البحث إلى وجود فروق دالة إحصائياً بين متوسطي درجات الطلاب المتفوقين والعاديين فى كل من النهوض الأكاديمي والدرجة الكلية لعادات العقل لصالح الطلاب المتفوقين، بالإضافة إلى وجود علاقة موجبة دالة إحصائياً بين النهوض الأكاديمي وعادات العقل لدى الطلاب المتفوقين والعاديين. (الملخص المنشور)

The research aimed to recognize the level of academic buoyancy and habits of mind for gifted and normal students in first year general secondary, in addition to recognize the relationship between academic buoyancy and habits of mind. The research sample consists of (216) male and female students, The researcher prepared academic buoyancy’s scale, and habits of mind’s scale, By using "the Averages", and "Person correlation coefficient”, "Independent Sample T-Test". The research found that the level of academic buoyancy for gifted students was high, but the level of academic buoyancy for normal students was average, it found also that the level of habits of mind for gifted students was high, but the level of habits of mind for normal students was average, , it found also there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of gifted and normal students in academic buoyancy and habits of mind in favor of gifted students, there were positive relationship between academic buoyancy and habits of mind for both of gifted and normal students.
