The effectiveness of the educational scaffolding strategy in developing mathematical problem-solving skills and the remaining impact of learning for second grade intermediate students [Article]
The aim of the current research is to reveal “the effectiveness of the educational scaffolding strategy in developing mathematical problem-solving skills and the survival of the learning effect of second-grade intermediate students.” To achieve this goal, a quasi-experimental approach based on the design of two experimental and control groups was adopted, with the pre and post measurements. Where a test for mathematical problem-solving skills was prepared for second grade intermediate students in the (percentage unit) of the first semester of the year 1440-1441 AH. The research sample was randomly chosen, and the number of its members reached (60) female students from the second intermediate class students It was randomly divided into two equal groups: one was experimental (30) students, they studied the (percentage unit) using the educational scaffolding strategy, and the other was (30) student who studied the same unit in the usual way, and one of the most important research results was the presence of a statistically significant difference at the level of (0, 05) Between the average score for the experimental group; And the degrees of the students of the control group in the post-application to test the mathematical problem-solving skills for the benefit of the experimental group students, and the presence of a statistically significant difference at the level (0,05) between the average degrees of the students of the experimental group; And the degrees of the students of the control group in the postponed post-application to test the mathematical problem-solving skills for the benefit of the experimental group students In light of the previous results, the current research recommended directing the attention of specialists in education and teachers to using structural learning applications, in particular the strategy of educational scaffolding in teaching mathematics in general and mathematical problem-solving skills in particular, and including the strategy of educational scaffolding in the teacher's guide to teaching mathematics and clarifying all its procedures, and some were presented Proposals for future research studies.
