هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مفهوم التنمية المهنية وأهميتها لمعلم التربية الإسلامية، والتعرف على دواعي ومبررات التنمية المهنية لمعلمي التربية الإسلامية بدولة الكويت، والوقوف على أهم أساليب التنمية المهنية لمعلمي التربية الإسلامية بدولة الكويت، والكشف عن واقع برامج التنمية المهنية لمعلمي التربية الإسلامية في دولة الكويت، والكشف عن أهم معوقات التنمية المهنية لمعلمي التربية الإسلامية بدولة الكويت. استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي، وكشفت النتائج عن أن هناك احتياج مهم جدا نحو التنمية المهنية للمعلمين في جميع مجالاتها الثقافية والأكاديمية والتربوية. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من المعوقات التي تواجه التنمية المهنية لمعلمي التربية الإسلامية في دولة الكويت، تتمثل في ضعف مستوى الإعداد المهني للطالب المعلم، عدم وضوح فلسفة التنمية المهنية، الواقع الذي تعيشه مادة التربية الإسلامية، التناقض بين قيم المجتمع الأصيلة والقيم الدخيلة، ضعف برامج التطوير المهني ضعف البرامج التدريبية التثقيفية. وفي ضوء النتائج التي توصلت إليها الدراسة، أوصت بضرورة الأخذ بنتائج تقويم البرامج الخاصة بتنمية المعلمين مهنيا، ودراستها بتعمق لمعرفة مدى ملائمتها بحيث يمكن الاستفادة منها أو تعديلها. The study aimed to identify the concept of professional development and its importance for the Islamic education teacher, to identify the reasons and justifications for the professional development of Islamic education teachers in the State of Kuwait, to identify the most important methods of professional development for Islamic education teachers in the State of Kuwait, and to reveal the reality of professional development programs for Islamic education teachers in the State of Kuwait and revealing the most important obstacles to the professional development of Islamic education teachers in the State of Kuwait. The study used the descriptive Method. The results revealed that there is a very important need for professional development for teachers in all its cultural, academic and educational fields. The study also found a set of obstacles facing the professional development of Islamic education teachers in the State of Kuwait, represented by the weak level of professional preparation for the student teacher, the lack of clarity of the philosophy of professional development, the reality in which the subject of Islamic education is living, the contradiction between the original values of society and the extraneous values, the weakness of the programs professional development Weak educational training programs. In light of the findings of the study, the study recommended the necessity of taking the results of evaluating programs for the professional development of teachers, and studying them in depth to see their suitability so that they can be used or modified.
