تسعى الدراسة لتقصي قدرة القدرات المعرفية على التنبؤ بالمهارات الاجتماعية لدى أطفال الروضة في محافظة الأحساء بالمملكة العربية السعودية، وعلاقاتهما ببعض المتغيرات الديموغرافية. لتحقيق هدف الدراسة، تم استخدام اختبار القدرات المعرفية لأطفال الروضة والذي قامت الباحثة ببنائه وتقنينه على البيئة السعودية، ومقياس المهارات الاجتماعية. طبق اختبار القدرات المعرفية على أطفال الروضة أنفسهم وعددهم (268) طفلا من عمر (5 و11) شهرا وحتى (6 و11) شهرا، في حين (40) معلمة قمن بتقييم (268) طفلا على مقياس المهارات الاجتماعية، وفق متغيرات النوع ونوع الروضة والمستوى الاقتصادي للأسرة. بينت نتائج الدراسة وجود ارتباط مرتفع بين قدرات الأطفال المعرفية ومهاراتهم الاجتماعية. وأن اختبار القدرات المعرفية استطاع التنبؤ بالمهارات الاجتماعية للأطفال. مما يعني أنه كلما ارتفعت القدرات المعرفية للأطفال ارتفعت مهاراتهم الاجتماعية. بينت نتائج الدراسة أيضا وجود فروق في اختبار القدرات المعرفية لصالح الإناث باختبار القدرات اللفظية المعرفي، في حين كانت الفروقات في الاختبارين الكمي وغير اللفظي لصالح الذكور. كما كانت هناك فروقات وفق متغير نوع الروضة ومستوى دخل الأسرة. The study seeks to investigate the ability of cognitive abilities to predict social skills among kindergarten children in Al-Ahsa Governorate, Saudi Arabia, and their relationships with some demographic variables. The cognitive abilities test was applied to the kindergarten children themselves, which numbered 268 children from the ages of 5 and 11 months to 6 and 11 months, while 40 female teachers evaluated 268 children on the social skills scale, according to the variables of gender, type of kindergarten, and the economic level of the family. The results of the study showed a high correlation between children's cognitive abilities and their social skills. And that the cognitive abilities test was able to predict the social skills of children. This means that the higher the cognitive abilities of the children, the higher their social skills. The results of the study also showed that there were differences in the cognitive abilities test in favor of females in the verbal cognitive abilities test, while the differences in the quantitative and nonverbal tests were in favor of males. There were also differences according to the type of kindergarten and the level of family income. (Published abstract)
