هدفت الدراسة إلى تقديم تصور مقترح للتطوير المهن لمعلمي الرياضيات والعلوم في المملكة العربية السعودية في ضوء متطلبات دراسة التوجهات الدولية للرياضيات والعلوم TIMSS. استخدم المنهج الوصفي، حيث قام الباحثتين بعرض الإطار المفاهيمي لكل من تطوير المهني للمعلمين وأبرز ملامحه، بالإضافة لعرض الفلسفة التي تقوم عليها دراسة التوجهات الدولية والعالمية في الرياضيات والعلوم (TIMSS). وفي ضوء الإطار المفاهيمي والدراسات السابقة، تم صياغة التصور، حيث جاء مشتملا على عدة نقاط رئيسية تمثلت فيما يلي: هدف التصور المقترح، منطلقات التصور المقترح، محاور التصور المقترح، ومنها: أهداف التنمية المهني لمعلمي الرياضيات والعلوم، والخطوات الإجرائية لتنفيذ التصور المقترح لتنمية معلمي الرياضيات والعلوم مهنيا. The research aimed to present a proposed conception for the professional development of mathematics and science teachers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the light of the requirements of the trends of the international mathematics and science studies (TIMSS), and has adopted the descriptive approach, where the two researchers presented the conceptual framework for each of the professional development of teachers and its most prominent features, in addition to presenting the philosophy on which trends of the international mathematics and science studies (TIMSS) is based. In the light of the conceptual framework and previous studies, the conception was formulated, as it included several main points as follows: the objective of the proposed conception, starting points of the proposed conception, pivots of the proposed conception, including: Objectives of professional development for mathematics and science teachers, and procedural steps to implement the proposed conception for the professional development of mathematics and science teachers.
