The study aimed to know the impact and the nature of the relationship between the selection and appointment processes and job performance, knowing the reality of the selection and appointment processes in higher education institutions, and knowing the effectiveness of human resource planning and attracting human resources, and its reflection on the performance of faculty members at the Faculty of Economics at Bani Walid University. To study this effect, the researcher used the approach Descriptive and analytical to reach the desired results. The researcher also designed a questionnaire to collect data consisting of four axes (human resource planning, human resource recruitment, selection and appointment policies, and faculty performance) distributed to 80 individuals from the total research community, which consists of 140 faculty members at the Faculty Economics University of Bani Walid, and the study reached the most important results, the most important of which is the existence of a statistically significant impact of the policy of selection and appointment, human resource planning and human resource recruitment on the performance of faculty members, and that there is a very clear weakness in human resource planning processes, as well as weakness in the processes of attracting human resources and a clear weakness in Selection and appointment policies, and this was certainly reflected in the low level of performance in the college. The researcher recommended several recommendations, including the need to pay attention to human resources planning processes and support the senior management for this, and to pay more attention to applying all standards in the selection and appointment policies for new faculty members, and organizing training courses to raise the efficiency of workers in the departments concerned with handling personnel affairs at the university.
