ينتمي البحث إلى محورين وهما محور قضايا ومشكلات في التربية والتعليم، وبمحور الإعداد الأكاديمي والتطوير المهني للمعلمين، وهذان المحوران من الأهمية بمكان، ويعنى البحث بمرحلة مهمة من التعليم وهي: الدراسات العليا، ولهذه المرحلة أهميتها ومتطلباتها التي يجب أن تتوافر في طلاب الدراسات العليا، وفي الأساتذة القائمين عليها: تدريسا وإشرافا. بينت في هذا البحث طبيعة هذه المرحلة، وما يميزها عن المراحل التعليمية التي قبلها سواء ما يتعلق بالجانب العلمي، أو بالمهارات الواجب توافرها في الأستاذ والطالب، وبناء على طبيعة هذه المرحلة تكون الطريقة التي يجب أن يسلكها أعضاء هيئة التدريس تدريسا وتعاملا مع الطلبة. كما عُني البحث ببيان الغرض من الدراسات العليا، وبيان أهميتها في كونها توطئة وتمهيدا لإعداد الرسالة العلمية: الماجستير والدكتوراه، بالإضافة إلى السلوكيات الخاطئة في التعليم الخاصة في هذه المرحلة المهمة، مما ينتج عنه كثير من المشكلات العلمية والتعلمية. وذكرت أن لبيان طبيعة الدراسات العليا، وطرائق تدريسها أثرا كبيرا في تحقيق الجودة العلمية والبحثية، وسيكون له الأثر البالغ في تحقيق رؤية المملكة: 2030 بإذن الله -تعالى. The study addresses two points. The first one is the education issues and problems. The second is the academic preparation and professional development of teachers which both are very significant. The study is concerned with an important stage of education that is known as the postgraduate. This stage has its importance and requirements that shall be fulfilled by the postgraduate students and their professors in regard with teaching and supervision. I discussed in this study the nature of this stage and what distinguishes it from the other educational stages preceded it regarding the scientific aspect or the skills that shall be fulfilled by the professor and the student. The faculty members shall follow the appropriate methodology in teaching and dealing with students according to the nature of this stage. The study explains the purpose of the postgraduate and its importance as it is considered a preparation for the thesis: the master's and doctoral degrees. The study also explains the related wrong behaviors at this important stage that causes many scientific and learning problems. I also discussed the great importance of explaining the nature of postgraduate and its teaching methodologies in achieving the scientific and study quality that will have a significant role in achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, by the will of Lord.
