هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى دور البحث العلمي في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة في ضوء رؤية المملكة العربية السعودية 2030، والتعرف إلى غايات التنمية المستدامة وأهم التحديات التي تواجهها، كذلك هدفت لتحديد مقومات تفعيل دور البحث العلمي لتلبية متطلبات التنمية المستدامة في ضوء رؤية المملكة العربية السعودية 2030، مرتكزاً في ذلك على رؤية الباحث الشخصية للبحث العلمي ومشيداً بالدور البحثي للجامعات في المملكة الذي ساعد في حصول المملكة على مراكز متقدمة في البحوث المنشورة بحسب المؤشرات العالمية، وذلك لتفعيل متطلبات التنمية المستدامة في ضوء رؤية المملكة العربية السعودية 2030. The study aimed to identify the goals of sustainable development and to identify the most important challenges facing them. It also aimed to identify the elements of activating the role of scientific research to meet the requirements of sustainable development in the light of the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030, based on the researcher’s personal vision for scientific research and praising the research role of universities in the Kingdom, which helped The Kingdom’s attainment of advanced positions in research published according to international indicators, in order to activate the requirements of sustainable development in light of the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030.
