استهدف البحث تقصي الفروق في القدرة على حل المشكلات لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانوية تبعا لبعض المتغيرات الديموغرافية (النوع - التخصص الدراسي - نوع المدرسة). تكونت عينة الدراسة من عينة قدرها (100) طالب وطالبة من طلاب المرحلة الثانوية، من طلاب هدى شعراوي التجريبية لغات، ومدرسة زهراء حلوان إدارة المعصرة، بمحافظة القاهرة. تكونت أدوات الدراسة من مقياس الذكاء الانفعالي (إعداد الباحثة)، كما تم تطبيق الدراسة خلال الفصل الدراسي الثاني خلال العام الدراسي (2020-2021). توصل البحث إلى مجموعة نتائج، أهمها: 1) وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متوسطات درجات طلاب المدارس الحكومية ومتوسطات درجات طلاب المدارس التجريبية اللغات في مقياس القدرة على حل المشكلات. 2) عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متوسطات درجات الذكور ومتوسطات درجات الإناث في مقياس القدرة على حل المشكلات. 3) عدم وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين متوسطات درجات طلاب التخصص العلمي ومتوسطات درجات طلاب التخصص الأدبي في مقياس القدرة على حل المشكلات. The research aims at investigating the differences in problem solving ability for the secondary stage according to some demographic variables (Gender - Specialization - School type). The study sample consisted of (100) high school students from Hoda Shaarawy experimental languages students and Zahraa Helwan School, Al-Masara Administration, Cairo Governorate. The study tools consisted of the scale of problem-solving ability prepared by the researcher as the study was applied during the second semester during the academic year (2020-2021). The research reached a set of results, the most important of which was that: 1) there are statistically significant differences between the average scores of government school students and the average scores of students of experimental language schools in the scale of problem-solving ability, 2) as well as the absence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores males and female average scores in the problem-solving ability scale. 3) The results of the study also confirmed that there are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of students in the scientific major and the average scores of literary students in the problem-solving ability scale.
