تناولت الدراسة دور التاريخ في تربية وتنمية الوعي الاقتصادي، فالتاريخ يعد مدرسة تربوية متكاملة، فهو يربي الجانب العقلي والجانب النفسي والجانب الاخلاقي وكذلك الجانب الاقتصادي. ولقد أكدت الدراسة أن التاريخ يرتبط بغيره من العلوم والتي منها علم الاقتصاد. كما تناولت الدراسة أهم النظريات الاقتصادية المفسرة للتاريخ، ويعد ابن خلدون العالم العربي الرائد الأول في تأصيل نظرية اقتصادية مفسرة للتاريخ. كما تعرضت الدراسة لبيان أهم الوظائف الاقتصادية للتاريخ، فالتاريخ يوجههنا لاستثمار البيئة ويوقفنا على التجارب الاقتصادية للسابقين. This research showed that history has an effective role in developing the economic awareness as history is an integrated educational school. It builds the mental, psychological, moral, and economic sides of the character. This research also ensured that history is related to other sciences as economy …etc. It also discussed the most important economic theories of history. Ibn Khaldon is considered the first Arab pioneer of the first economic theory of history. This research also showed the major economic functions of history. It explained that history helps us to exploit the environment and make the good use of the past economic experiences. (Published abstract)
