The present Study dealt with one of the most important topics related to educational institutions, whose outputs affect the success of managing and implementing the educational process directly and indirectly, the process of community development. Especially in societies that apply an advanced educational system such as the semester system, which applied by Saud universities. This educational system is based mainly on academic advising. The study examined the impact of the academic advisor's participation in the planning of the academic advising plan from the point of view of the faculty members in the College of Administrative Sciences at Najran University, as one of the main factors that affect on the success of the application of the academic advising plan. The problem of the study was presented in a basic question: Was the academic advising plan to put in according to the needs of academic advisors? The study aimed to determine the importance of the academic advisor’s participation in the academic advising plan and to identify weaknesses in the academic advising. Therefore, the questionnaire was designed as a study tool and its link was sent to the respondents. The study founding’s: 1) The academic advising plan was designed according to the actual needs of the academic advisors. 2) The central planning for the academic advising is not suitable for all academic programs. 3) The academic advising system was designed in a complex way that consumes effort and time in preparing reports, which led to job dissatisfaction. The study recommendations: 1) The necessity of adopting the academic advising plan according to the teaching staff load. 2) Adopting decentralized planning for academic advising. 3) Review the academic advising plan according to management, development and quality responsibilities of academic advisors (faculty members).
