هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على الأسباب التي أدت عزوف المعلمين عن تفعيل مختبر العلوم في المرحلة المتوسطة لمادة الفيزياء للصفين التاسع والعاشر الأساسين في الأردن من وجهة نظر المعلمين. تم بناء استبانة مكونة من (25) فقرة موزعة على أربعة مجالات ممثلة بمجال المادة الدراسية، ومجال طرائق التدريس، ومجال مختبر العلوم، ومجال السمات الشخصية. تم تطبيق الاستبانة على عينة الدراسة المكونة من (53) معلما، وتم اختيار العينة بطريقة عشوائية طبقية. توصل الباحث إلى أن جميع مجالات الدراسة كان لها دور في عزوف تفعيل المختبر لدى المعلمين بنسب متفاوتة، وكان لمحور الأسباب المتعلقة بالسمات الشخصية وبشكل خاص لعاملي كثرة الأعمال الإدارية التي تمنع التحضير للدرس بصورة صحيحة - عدم مقدرة المعلم على تنفيذ التجارب؛ الدور الأهم من وجهة نظر المعلمين في عزوف المعلمين عن تفعيل مختبر العلوم. وكان من أهم ما أوصت به الدراسة هو إعادة النظر في آلية الدورات التي تعطى للمعلمين، والعمل على معالجة ضعف المهارات العملية لدى المعلمين. This study aimed to identify the reasons that led to teachers’ reluctance to activate the science lab in the middle school for physics for the ninth and tenth grades in Jordan from the teachers’ point of view. And the field of teaching methods, and the field of science lab, and the field of personality traits. The questionnaire was applied to the study sample consisting of (53) teachers, and the sample was chosen in a stratified random manner. The researcher concluded that all fields of study had a role in the teachers’ reluctance to activate the laboratory in varying proportions. One of the most important recommendations of the study was to reconsider the mechanism of the courses given to teachers, and work to address the weakness of the practical skills of teachers.
