بيّنت الدراسة أثر العولمة، وما أحدثته من تحولات في طبيعة المعرفة والجامعة، وأكدت أننا في حاجة ماسة إلى مراجعة نظمنا ومؤسساتنا الجامعية حتـى نـعيـد تحديـد أهدافها، وصيغها، ونعبّئ مواردها ونوظفها اجتماعياً وتنموياً. وأوضحت الدراسة تلك التحولات في الانتقالات: 1) من المعرفة المتشرذمة إلى المعرفة البينية والمجاوزة. 2) من التكنولوجيا البدائية إلى التكنولوجيا الرقمية. 3) الجامعة: من إعادة إنتاج المجتمع إلى نقده. 4) من التعليم المباشر إلى التعلم عن بعد. 5) من التمويل الحكومي إلى مشاركة المجتمع المدني. 6) من تقييم المخرجات (الفحص) إلى تلبية احتياجات العميل (الجودة الشاملة). 7) من تقويم الطالب إلى تقويم المؤسسة الأكاديمية. 8) من التربية التقليدية إلى تربية مستقبلية. The study showed the impact of globalization and the changes it has made in the knowledge nature and in the university and stressed that we are in an urgent need to review our systems and university institutions until we redefine its objectives and mobilizing its resources and employing them socially and culturally. The study explained these shifts in transitions:1) from fragmented knowledge to inter-knowledge and transgression, 2) From primitive technology to digital technology. 3) University: from the reproduction of society to its criticism. 4) From direct education to distance learning. 5) From government funding to civil society participation. 6) From the evaluation of outputs to meet customer needs (total quality). 7) From the student’s assessment to the evaluation of the academic institution. 8) From traditional education to future education.
