هدفت الدراسة إلى تحديد خصائص الطلاب المتفوقين دراسيا، وتعرف محددات التفوق الدراسي من وجهة نظر طلاب المرحلة الثانوية بدولة الكويت في ضوء متغيرات الدراسة، وتقديم بعض التوصيات المقترحة لرعاية ومتابعة الطلاب المتفوقين بدولة الكويت. واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي. وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة لأهمية تعرف طبيعة العوامل المحددة للتفوق الدراسي بالنسبة لطلاب المرحلة الثانوية، حتى يتسنى للجميع تعرفها والتعامل معها ووضع الخطط العلاجية والإثرائية الداعمة لعملية تفوقهم. كما أظهرت النتائج أن العوامل المتعلقة بالمستوى الاقتصادي والاجتماعي لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانوية قد جاءت في المرتبة الأولي بالنسبة لترتيب العوامل المؤثرة على عملية التفوق الدراسي من حيث الأهمية. في حين جاءت العوامل المرتبطة بالصحة الجسمية للطلاب في المرتبة الأخيرة. The study aimed to determine the characteristics of students who gifted in studies and define the determinants of academic giftedness from the point of view of secondary school students in the State of Kuwait in view of the study variables. The study used the descriptive approach. The results of the study reached the importance of knowing the nature of the factors determining the giftedness of the school for high school students, so that everyone can know and deal with them and develop therapeutic plans and enrichment in support of their giftedness. The results also showed that the factors related to the economic and social level of secondary students ranked first in order to determine the factors affecting the process of academic giftedness in terms of importance. While factors related to physical health of students came in last place. (Published abstract)
