The study aimed to: Develop a list of proposed life skills to help teachers and teachers of intellectual education to analyze the goals and content of social and environmental studies curricula and develop their own perceptions of how to train and in the light of this list to communicate the daily life skills of mentally retarded pupils in the kindergarten and primary stage, and to teach some life skills related to a field The physical and motor self, the emotional and social self, and knowing the extent of its influence in improving the child's concept of his self. Study methodology: This study was based on a sample of mentally retarded children in the kindergarten and elementary stage (elementary grades) of those between the ages of (5-9) years, through the researcher’s observations while interacting with them, where she taught them in all subjects for a period A semester of study I have used behavioral techniques and strategies for behavior modification, either for their education or training. The study reached a number of results, among which were the following: The child at this stage of Umrah begins to form himself and is greatly affected by those around him, and this effect may continue to the next stages of his life, as if the child receives frustration both from who lives in his environment and even from himself when He cannot be independent in his own fulfillment of his basic needs at an early stage. Recommendations: There are some recommendations that would reflect positively on their impact on the intellectually disabled child, including: Educating the families of the intellectually impaired of the importance of life skills, and developing them through holding seminars and broadcasting radio and television targeted programs, and the need to prepare special television programs for the intellectually disabled to acquire different skills, including Life skills and their development to form the appropriate behavior, and the need to work to integrate the intellectually disabled children with normal children by allocating classes for them in the normal schools to interact with them and provide them with life skills and their participation in the practice of various activities and because this has an impact in improving the concept of the self.
