هدفت الدراسة الحالية للتعرف على درجة امتلاك الطلبة المعاقين عقليا والملتحقين بمركز التأهيل الشامل في منطقة نجران لمهارات العناية بالذات، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (22) طالبا وطالبة منهم (12) من ذوي الإعاقة المتوسطة، و(10) من ذوي الإعاقة الشديدة، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة أعد الباحثان مقياسا لمهارات العناية بالذات، أشارت النتائج إلى أن درجة امتلاك الطلبة المعاقين عقليا وصلت حوالي (50%) من مفردات المقياس، كما أشارت الدراسة إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى (α ≥ 0.05) تعزي للجنس في جميع المهارات وفي الدرجة الكلية، في حين أشارت الدراسة إلى وجود فروق تعزى لدرجة الإعاقة في جميع المهارات وفي الدرجة الكلية. This study aims at identifying the level at which the mentally-retarded students at the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center (CRC) in Najran Region- KSA- acquire self-care skills. The sample of study consisted of 22 male and female students, 12 of whom are with moderate mental retardation and 10 are severely mentally-retarded. In order to achieve the goals of the study, the two researchers prepared a scale for self-care skills. The results indicated that the mentally-retarded students acquired around (50%) of the scale’s vocabulary. The results also indicated that there were not any statistically-oriented differences according to gender in all the skills and in the total score. Furthermore, the result showed that there were differences attributed to the level of disability in all the skills and in the total score. (Published abstract)
