هدف البحث إلى التعرف على اتجاهات أولياء الأمور نحو الاحتياجات المادية والاجتماعية والمعرفية والمجتمعية لأبنائهم الطلاب ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في جامعات منطقة الرياض، والكشف عن الفروق بين متوسطي درجات أولياء الأمور في الدرجة الكلية لمقياس احتياجات أولياء أمور ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة تبعا لبعض العوامل الديموغرافية، وقد استخدم الباحث مقياس اتجاهات أولياء أمور نحو الاحتياجات المادية والاجتماعية والمعرفية والمجتمعية لأبنائهم الطلاب ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة (إعداد السرطاوي، 1998)، وتكونت عينة البحث من (30) ولي أمر لطلاب ذوي إعاقات (سمعية - بصرية - حركية) بجامعات الملك سعود وشقراء والمجمعة وسطام، وأكدت نتائج البحث على أنه هناك ارتباط وثيق بين أبعاد اتجاهات أولياء الأمور نحو الاحتياجات المادية والاجتماعية والمعرفية والمجتمعية لأبنائهم ذوي الإعاقة في التعليم العالي في جامعات الرياض"، وذلك بهدف التأكيد على دورها وفاعليتها وتأثيرها المباشر مع بعضها البعض بحيث أننا لا نستطيع أن نعزل أو نتجاهل أي بعد من أبعاد الدراسة، مما ينعكس بالإيجاب على أهمية هذه الأبعاد للوصول لمعرفة اتجاهات أولياء الأمور نحو الاحتياجات المادية والاجتماعية والمعرفية والمجتمعية لأبنائهم ذوي الإعاقة.
