شهدت المجتمعات، في الوقت الحاضر، عديد من التغيرات التي مهدت لظهور مجتمع عالمي جديد يطلق عليه مجتمع المعرفة، ويعتمد هذا المجتمع على النشاطات المعرفية المتمثلة في نشر المعرفة، وإنتاجها، وتطبيقها، وهذه الأنشطة المعرفية تدخل في جوهر مهام ومسئوليات التعليم الجامعي. لذلك هدف هذا البحث إلى تعرف مفهوم مجتمع المعرفة، وأبعاده، وخصائصه، وتعرف العلاقات المتبادلة بين وظائف الجامعة ومجتمع المعرفة. وقد خلص البحث إلى وجود علاقات تأثيرية ومتبادلة بين وظائف الجامعة الثلاثة وبين أنشطة مجتمع المعرفة. At the present time societies have undergone many changes which paved the way for the emergence of a new global society called knowledge society. This society depends on the knowledge activities represented in dissemination, production, and application of knowledge these knowledge activities are the core of function and responsibilities of university education. There for, the aim of this research is to know knowledge society, its dimensions, and its characteristics and to know the mutual relationships between university functions and knowledge society. Research has concluded that there is influencing and reciprocal relationships between the three function of the university and the activities of knowledge society. (Published abstract)
