تبدأ دائرة التقدم بالوعي وتنتهي بالتغيير نحو الأفضل؛ فإذا أردنا تغيير الواقع على نحو أفضل لا بد من تصوره على نحو صحيح. ومن أجل ذلك، سعى البحث الحالي إلى التحقق من مستوى الوعي بالأساليب الاستراتيجية لدى المشاركين في عملية التخطيط الاستراتيجي بالجامعات، وما إذا كان لهذا الوعي انعكاساته في تغيير الواقع المؤسسي. واعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي لعدد من الخطط الاستراتيجية. وتوصل إلى النتائج التالية: ارتفاع مستوى الوعي بالأساليب الاستراتيجية لصالح المستويات الإدارية العليا ولصالح الجامعات الأجنبية أيضاً على حساب الجامعات الحكومية. وارتفاع درجة النجاح الاستراتيجي للجامعة الأمريكية بالقاهرة، وكذلك لجامعة القاهرة، في حين أنها أقل بالنسبة لجامعة الزقازيق. The cycle of development begins with awareness and ends with change towards better; if we want to change reality better, it must be properly prospective. For this purpose, the current research sought to investigate the level of awareness of strategic techniques among the participants in the strategic planning process in universities, and whether this awareness has reflection in institutional change. The research relied on the descriptive and analytical methodology of a number of strategic plans, and reached the following results: Awareness of strategic techniques for higher administrative levels and for foreign universities is highest, the lowest level in public universities. The strategic success for the American University in Cairo and Cairo University is Highest, while it is lower for Zagazig University. (Published abstract)
