هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة أثر تدريس وحدة جسم الإنسان من مقرر العلوم لتلاميذ الصف السادس الابتدائي بطريقة الاكتشاف الموجه في المختبر على تحصيلهم الدراسي لديهم مقارنة بطرائق التدريس المتبعة في تدريس هذا المقرر. تكونت العينة من 70 تلميذاً من تلاميذ الصف السادس الابتدائي في مدينة تبوك من المملكة العربية السعودية موزعين على مجموعتين، مجموعة تجريبية تكونت من 35 تلميذاً، تم تدريسهم وحدة جسم الإنسان بطريقة الاكتشاف الموجه في المختبر، ومجموعة ضابطة تكونت من 35 تلميذاً تم تدريسهم المحتوى نفسه بالطرائق المعتادة. تم تصميم البرنامج التدريسي الخاص بوحدة جسم الإنسان وفقاً لطريقة الاكتشاف الموجه في المختبر، وأعد الباحث اختباراً تحصيليَاً للوحدة المذكورة. وتم تطبيق الاختبار التحصيلي على أفراد العينة. كشفت النتائج عن وجود فرق دال إحصائياً بين متوسطي درجات تلاميذ المجموعتين في الاختبار التحصيلي، وكان الفرق لصالح المجموعة التجريبية التي درس تلاميذها بطريقة الاكتشاف الموجه في المختبر. This study aimed to investigate the effect of teaching science by using guided discovery in the laboratory on the primary sixth grade students’ Academic achievement for the human body unit comparing with the prevailed methods. Study sample covered (70) students of primary sixth grade students in Tabuk City –Saudia Arabia divided into two groups, an experimental group covered (35) students where they studied the human body unit by the guided discovery in the laboratory and the controlled group covered (35) ones subjected to the same content by the prevailed methods. The equivalence of the two groups were verified through returning to the students transcript at the pre-semester of the test on the sample members before executing the study and through results pre application for achievement test. after that the researcher designed the teaching program in accordance with the guided discovery through the laboratory, and designing the achievement test , and after application teaching program, the achievement test were applied to the members of the study samples. The research results revealed that there is a statistically significance difference at 5% between the average of the degrees for the two groups students in the achievement test, the difference was in favor of the experimental group whose students studied by the guided discovery in the laboratory. Researcher recommended that more studies should be carried out concerning the effect of teaching other scientific subjects in science by the guided discovery in the test regarding the students' Academic achievement.
