هدف هذا البحث إلى بناء برنامج دراسات عليا لتأهيل المعلمين لإدراك طبيعة الموهبة ورعاية الموهوبين. ولتحقيق هذا الهدف، تمت المراجعة والتحليل للمعايير المهنية الدولية للمعلمين؛ وعلى وجه التحديد، المعايير المهنية لمعلم الموهوبين المقدمة بالتشارك بين الجمعية الوطنية للأطفال الموهوبين (NAGC) ومجلس الأطفال الاستثنائيون (CEC) في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، الإصدار الثاني الصادر في عام 2013 والمعمول بها حاليا. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تم إجراء مراجعة ومقارنة مع عدد من البرامج القائمة ذات الصلة المقدمة في الجامعات الرائدة التي تتمتع بسمعة أكاديمية وبحثية عالية في مجال تعليم الموهوبين في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. في ضوء التحليل والمقارنة، خلص الباحث إلى برنامج مقترح في مستوى درجة الماجستير يحقق المعايير المهنية، ويجمع بين نقاط التميز للبرامج التي تمت مراجعتها. يحتوي البرنامج، في نسخته النهائية، على تسعة مقررات بالإضافة إلى متطلبات الخبرات الميدانية ورسالة الماجستير تغطي مواضيع جوهرية واسعة لتمكين المعلمين من الاتجاهات، المعارف، والمهارات اللازمة لإدراك طبيعة الموهبة ورعاية الموهوبين في المدارس العامة، وكذلك في البرامج الخاصة الإضافية. وعليه قد تساهم النتيجة النهائية لهذا البحث في تطوير برامج الجامعات حيث يمكن استخدام مكونات البرنامج المقترح كمرجع لتقييم وتطوير برامجها الحالية، أو اعتماد البرنامج المقترح للتنفيذ استجابة للأهمية الموضوعية لقضية تعليم الموهوبين، بالإضافة إلى الحاجة الماسة لمواكبة الاتجاهات العالمية في إعداد المعلمين القادرين على رفع جودة التعليم وتوفير فرص مثالية للنمو الأمثل للطلاب الواعدين مع مزيد من الدعم للموهوبين الذي يحقق الاستثمار الفعال لقدراتهم. This research article aimed at establishing a proposed graduate program to prepare teachers to understand the nature of giftedness and nurture the gifted. To achieve this aim, the international professional standards of teachers were reviewed and utilized; specifically, the professional standards of gifted teachers provided jointly by the American National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC), the currently used second edition issued in 2013. In addition, review and comparison were made with a number of relevant existing programs offered in pioneering universities that have academic and research reputation in the field of gifted education in the United States of America. In the light of analysis and comparison, the researcher reached to a proposed master's degree program that achieves the professional standards and combines positive elements of the reviewed programs. The program contains, in the final version, nine courses in addition to the requirement of field experiences and the master's thesis to cover broad substantial topics that enable teachers get strong attitudes, knowledge and skills to understand the nature of giftedness and nurture the gifted in public schools, as well as, in the additional special programs. Therefore, the outcome of this research is significant for universities where the components of the proposed program can be used as a reference to review and develop their existing programs, it also can be adopted for full implementation responding to the objective importance of gifted education issue, as well as, the current vital need to keep up with the international trends in preparation of teachers who are able to raise the quality of education and provide ideal opportunities for optimal growth of promising students, with further support to the gifted that facilitates effective investment of their abilities.
