هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع استخدام الحاسب الآلي كوسيلة تعليمية مع التلاميذ ذوي الإعاقة العقلية من وجهة نظر معلمي الإعاقة العقلية في مدينة جدة، ومدى فعالية استخدامها باختلاف متغيرات (الجنس، وسنوات الخدمة، والدورات التدريبية). تمحور السؤال الرئيس للدراسة في التعرف على واقع استخدام التعليم بالحاسب الآلي كوسيلة تعليمية من قبل معلمي الإعاقة العقلية. فيما تمثل منهج الدراسة في المنهج الوصفي المسحي. كما تم إعداد الاستبانة كأداة للدراسة مكونة من جزئين؛ شمل الجزء الأول بيانات أولية عن عينة الدراسة؛ وهي: (الجنس، وسنوات الخدمة، والدورات التدريبية)، والثاني (20) فقرة تمثلت في محاور أسئلة الدراسة، وقد طبقت الاستبانة على عينة الدراسة التي تكونت من (200) معلما ومعلمة. وأشارت النتائج إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائيا تعزى لمتغيرات الدراسة. فيما خلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات أهمها: التوسع في إدخال الحاسب الآلي في تدريس ذوي الإعاقة العقلية، بالإضافة إلى الاستفادة من المعلمين ذوي الخبرة في استخدام الحاسب الآلي ونقل تلك الخبرات لزملائهم، وأخيراً تذليل الصعوبات التي تواجه توظيف الحاسب الآلي في تدريس ذوي الإعاقة العقلية بتوفر الموارد المادية والبشرية. This study aimed to identify the reality of using computers as an educational tool with pupils with intellectual disabilities from the teachers’ perspectives in the city of Jeddah, and the effectiveness of its use according to different variables (gender, years of service, and training courses). The main question of the study centered on identifying the reality of using computer as an educational tool by teachers of intellectual disabilities. The study method is represented in the descriptive survey approach, the questionnaire was prepared as a study tool consisting of two parts: The first part included preliminary data on the study sample: (gender, years of service, and training courses), and the second part included (20) paragraphs represented the axes of the study questions, and the questionnaire was applied to the study sample that consisted of (200) male and female teachers. The results indicated that there were no statistically significant differences attributed to the study variables. While the study concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: expanding the access of computers in teaching pupils with intellectual disabilities. In addition, transferring the experiences of teachers who expert of using computer to their colleagues, finally, overcoming the difficulties facing the use of computer in teaching pupils with intellectual disabilities, with the availability of materials and human resources.
