يهدف البحث إلى التحقق من أساليب معاملة مقدمي الرعاية كمنبئات ببعض المشكلات السلوكية (العدوان - العناد - الانسحاب الاجتماعي) لدى الأطفال اليتامى ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية البسيطة. وشارك بالدراسة (106) طفلًا ممن تراوحت أعمارهم من  (8-14) عاماً، وتم تطبيق مقياسين من إعداد الباحث وهما مقياس أساليب المعاملة المدركة من قبل الأطفال ومقياس المشكلات السلوكية المدركة من قبل الأطفال وأشارت أهم النتائج إلى إمكانية التنبؤ بالعدوان من خلال الأسلوبين التسلطي والديمقراطي، والتنبؤ بالعناد من خلال الأسلوب التسلطي فقط، والتنبؤ بالانسحاب الاجتماعي من خلال الأسلوب التسلطي والديمقراطي والفوضوي وتم تفسير النتائج في ضوء النظريات والدراسات السابقة. This research aimed at investigating caregivers' styles as predictors of some behavioral problems (aggression - stubbornness - social withdrawal) among the orphaned children with mild intellectual disability. The participants were (106) orphan children with mild intellectual disability between (8 - 14) years old. Two scales were prepared by the researchers, namely the perceived behavioral methods by children and the perceived behavioral problems by children to collect the study data. Results of the study indicated that aggression could be predicted through both authoritative and authoritarian styles. Only the authoritarian style was a significant predictor of stubbornness. Authoritative, authoritarian and chaotic styles predicted social withdrawal significantly. The results were interpreted in the light of previous theories and studies. (Published abstract)
