هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن مستوى استخدام السيلفي لدى طلبة جامعة اليرموك. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة؛ جرى تطوير مقياس استخدام السيلفي، وجرى التحقق من خصائصه السيكومترية. و تكونت عينة الدراسة من (1720) طالباً وطالبة. أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن مستوى استخدام السيلفي كان متوسطا، وأظهرت النتائج وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في مستوى استخدام السيلفي على الدرجة الكلية للمقياس، وعلى بعدي (البروز، وتعديل المزاج)، تعزى للجنس لصالح الذكور، وعلى بعد (جذب الانتباه) لصالح الإناث. كما وجد فروق في مستوى استخدام السيلفي تعزى للمعدل التراكمي لصالح ذوي المعدل الممتاز، إضافة إلى وجود فروق في مستوى استخدام السيلفي على المقياس ككل، وعلى أبعاده جميعاً تعزى لمتغير التخصص، لصالح التخصص العلمي، وأظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية على مقياس استخدام السيلفي ككل تعزى للسنة الدراسية، ومكان الإقامة. This study aimed at detecting the level of taking selfie pictures among Yarmouk University students. A selfie scale was developed after verifying its psychometric features. The study sample consisted of 1720 male and female students. Study findings showed that taking selfie had a medium level. In addition, significant differences were found regarding the level of taking selfie in the total score of the scale and in the dimensions of salience use and mood modification, attributed to gender, in favor of the males, and in the attracting attention dimension, in favor of the females. Significant differences were also found in the level of taking selfie, attributed to GPA, in favor of high GPA. Moreover, differences were found within the whole scale and in all its dimensions, attributed to the majoring in a scientific field variable. However, no significant differences were found, attributed to the university year level and place of residence. (Published abstract)
