هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع ثقافة الوالدين ومعلوماتهم تجاه الإعاقة العقلية، والتعرف على أفضل الطرق لتحسين معارفهم وثقافتهم، وشملت عينة الدراسة والدي الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة العقلية حيث بلغ حجم العينة (٢٣٥) فرداً، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة واختبار تساؤلاتها اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من خلال بناء استبانة كأداة رئيسية لجمع البيانات، ثم تعديلها وتطويرها بالاعتماد على المتخصصين في هذا المجال، وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج والتوصيات منها: 1) قصور معارف الوالدين تجاه الإعاقة العقلية. 2) أصبح دور الوالدين له تأثير إيجابي على تطور الطفل ذوي الإعاقة، واكتسابه للمهارات والخبرات لذا لابد من توعيتهم وتنمية ثقافتهم تجاه الإعاقة العقلية. 3) ضرورة الاستفادة من الوسائل التكنولوجية لزيادة إقبال الوالدين عليها مثل الكتب الالكترونية وتطبيقات الهاتف المحمول المختلفة لتحقيق المنفعة المأمولة منها. 4) وضع تصور مقترح لكتاب الكتروني لتنمية ثقافة ومعارف الوالدين تجاه الإعاقة العقلية ومهارات الطفل اللغوية والاجتماعية. This study aimed to identify the reality of the culture of parents imparted toward mental disability, to identify the best ways to improve their knowledge and culture, the study included a sample of parents of children with mental disabilities, where the volume of the sample (235) personnel, to achieve the objectives of the study and testing of the openness of the head adopted a descriptive approach analytical work through the building of the identification of the main tool for data collection, and then modified and developed on the basis of the specialists in this field, the study concluded a number of conclusions and recommendations, including: 1) Lack of parental knowledge toward mental disability. 2) The role of the parents have a positive impact on the development of children with disabilities, the acquisition of skills and expertise so that must be aware of and develop their culture toward mental disability. 3) The need to benefit from the technological means to increase the turnout of parents, such as e-books of different mobile phone applications to achieve the desired benefit. 4) Develop a proposed e-book concept to develop the culture and knowledge of parents about mental disability and toward the child's linguistic and social skills.
