The internationalization of scientific research is a tool for universities to achieve competitive advantage at the local, regional & global level. The study aimed to benefit from some of the international expertise to develop the internationalization of research practice at the university & identify the organizational, human and research requirements necessary. The descriptive approach was applied & the community composed of (2078) assistant professor and above. The questionnaire was distributed to (409) members. The study’s findings were: the leading international expertise consisted of: Oxford, Harvard, Cambridge, Imperial College London, University of Pennsylvania, and Johns Hopkins, which ranked top in the 2018 & 2019 classification of times higher education. The average mean for organizational requirements was(4.48),“establishing a support unit for members to publish in international journals” gained the highest average. The average mean for human requirements was (4.45),”enabling members to cooperate in research projects with international universities” gained the highest average. The average mean for research requirements was (4.42),“subscribing to international journal databases” gained the highest average. In light of the results the researcher recommended the following: Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University must benefit from the leading international expertise in the internationalization of scientific research through multiple partnerships with international universities & research centers. The deanship of scientific research must establish a support unit to encourage & lead the faculty members towards proper way to publish in international journals. The university must seek various and sustainable alternatives to finance research. (Published abstract)
