Study the differences in administrative empowerment among the educational supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman according to a number of variables [Article]
Administrative empowerment is one of the basic requirements for the success of the educational supervisors' work, as it raises their spirits and satisfaction in their work, provides an opportunity for them to highlight their capabilities, and gives them confidence and appreciation from their superiors. This results in the supervisor engaging in positive practices based on employing creative thinking skills, improved performance, and speed in problem handling. These practices contribute to improving the performance of teachers, developing the academic achievement of their students, the success of educational institutions, and their effective continuity over competition. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the reality of administrative empowerment among the educational supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman. It also aimed to know the differences in administrative empowerment among supervisors, which are attributed to gender, academic qualification and years of experience. The study depended on the descriptive approach by building a questionnaire that included (24) items distributed on three domains related to administrative empowerment, namely: delegation of authority, motivation, training and qualification. The validity of the questionnaire was verified in two ways, namely: the validity of the arbitrators, and internal consistency. Its reliability was verified by using the Cronbach alpha coefficient, which reached 0.95. The questionnaire was applied to all educational supervisors in Dhofar region, who numbered (163) supervisors, and then analyzed and statistically processed the data using (SPSS) program- version 22, based on the mean, standard deviation, (T) test for independent samples, and one-way ANOVA. The study found that the level of administrative empowerment among the educational supervisors in the Sultanate of Oman was medium, where the average of the sample scores on the questionnaire reached (2.98) with a standard deviation of (1.18). It also found that there are no statistically significant differences at (0.05) between the opinions of the sample members about administrative empowerment due to the variables of gender, academic qualification, and years of experience. The study recommended the necessity of providing more powers to the educational supervisors so that they can perform their work by participating in the various fields entrusted with their work.
