Level of effects of cognitive, social, behavioral and emotional motives caused by social media means and degree of psychological satisfaction achieved from them among students of general diploma in education at AlAzhar University [Article]
The research aimed at identifying the level of cognitive, social, behavioral and emotional effects of social media Means and the degree of psychological satisfaction achieved from them in the light of the variables of place (Upper Egypt, Lower Egypt), gender (male, female), age (short, median, long), specialization (scientific - literary) and type of education (Azhari, non-Azhari). The study sample consisted of (938) male and female students in the general diploma in education at Al-Azhar University during the second semester of the academic year 2018 - 2019. The motives for using social media networks scale (prepared by the researcher) and psychological satisfaction scale (prepared by the researcher) were administered on them. The following statistical methods were used: means, standard deviations, relative weights, one way ANOVA, Scheffe test to identify the direction of differences and independent sample t-test. The research revealed the following results: The degree of the effect of cognitive motives from using social media means among the study sample was high, the degree of the effect of social motives was average, the degree of the effect of behavioral motives was average, the degree of the effect of emotional motives was high and the degree of the effect of total score was high. A statistically significant correlation was found between scores of the motives for using social media networks scale (dimensions and total score) and psychological satisfaction scale. Differences and no differences were found in some dimensions and the total score of the social communication scale attributed to the variable of place. No differences were found in (dimensions and total score) attributed to the variable of type. Differences and no differences were found in some dimensions and the total score attributable to the variable of age. Differences and no differences were found in some dimensions and the total score in some dimensions and the total degree attributed to the variable of specialization. No differences were found in (dimensions and total score) attributed to type of education. Differences and no statistically significant differences were found in some dimensions and the total score of psychological satisfaction scale attributed to the variable of place. Differences and no significant differences were found in some dimensions attributed to the variable of type. Differences were found in some dimensions and the total score attributed to the variable of age. Differences were found in some dimensions and the total degree attributed to the variable of specialization. Differences and no statistically significant differences were found in some dimensions and the total score of the psychological satisfaction scale attributable to the variable of type of education.
