هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف أدوار أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالجامعات المصرية في ضوء وظائفها الحالية، بالإضافة إلى معرفة التحديات والمتغيرات التي أدت إلي ظهور أدوار مستجدة لأعضاء هيئة التدريس بالجامعات المصرية. كما سعت إلى الوصول لأهم الأدوار المستجدة التي يمارسها أعضاء هيئة التدريس بالجامعات المصرية، مع تحديد المتطلبات التي تكفل لعضو هيئة التدريس ممارسة تلك الأدوار المستجدة. إستخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن هناك مجموعة من التحديات والمتغيرات فرضت على أعضاء هيئة التدريس ضرورة القيام بأدوار مستجدة تمشياً مع هذه التحديات، ومن هذه الأدوار: الدور التعليمي، الدور الإجتماعي، الدور البحثي، الدور الإداري، الدور الإرشادي والتوجيهي، دور عضو هيئة التدريس تجاه نفسه. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من المتطلبات تكفل لعضو هيئة التدريس ممارسة تلك الأدوار الجديدة. The study aimed to knowing the roles of faculty members in the Egyptian universities in light of its current functions, in addition to knowing the challenges and variables that led to the emergence of new roles for faculty members in the Egyptian universities, and it sought to reach the most important emerging roles practiced by the faculty members in the Egyptian universities, then determining the requirements that ensure the faculty member to practice these emerging roles. The researcher used the descriptive method, and the study found that there are many challenges and variables which imposed on the faculty member the necessity of doing emerging roles in line with these challenges. These roles include: educational role, social, research, administrative, guiding and advising role, and the role of faculty member towards himself. The study concluded a number of requirements to ensure practice these new roles. (Published abstract)
