This research aims to identify “reading capabilities relationship to dictation capabilities for male and female third grade primary students”. This research is limited to male and female students at third grade and registered at primary schools in Baqubah city for the academic year (2017-2018) and (442 male and female) students were chosen randomly. They were asked to read the prose text (open sesame) from the selected reading book that was chosen randomly. The researcher recorded the correct spoken words for each student and then asked them to write the same text ten days after reading them so that they would not remember after reading them and recorded the written words correctly for each student as well. The researcher used the Pearson correlation coefficient to determine the relationship between the reading capabilities and the dictation capabilities of the students. The researcher used conditional variance and t-test to determine the significance of the relationship. It was found that there was a positive relationship between the reading capabilities, and dictation capabilities of the third-grade male and female students with a significant statistical difference (0.05). The researcher recommended the need to pay attention to reading and writing words or letters correctly and suggested to conduct other studies for grades first and second primary and each gender separately.
