This study aims at defining the concept of students with special needs within the scope of Islamic heritage. Moreover, it aims at examining the possibility of establishing a special unit for teaching courses that are closely related to students with special needs at the university level in Saudi Arabia. The researcher adopted the documentary method for collecting data. One of the most important findings is that there are a number of verses in the Holy Quran, Hadith and related literature which has a close relation with people with special needs. The researcher suggested that further researches in the field need to be conducted. The necessity of carrying out these researches is to enhance the process of teaching students with special needs at university level. (Published abstract)
