This study sought to investigate the geographical knowledge among the students at girls’ college, Ain Shams University in the academic year 2009/2010.it also attempted to identify the impact of variables like specialization (arts, education), studying geography, student level (second and fourth), and student rate (high and low) on that geographical knowledge. Therefore, a test including (100) items was designed. It involved six major dimensions: (basic geographical definitions, identifying places on the map, reading the map, physical geography, human geography, geographical events and problems). The test was checked for validity and reliability of. It was administered to (160) student at girls’ college, Ain Shams University during the first semester of the academic year 2009/2010. Results were negative as the assessment shows a low result of 46% which did not reach the degree of adequacy which is 75%. Results also showed significant differences at 0.05 level in geographical knowledge among the students, which were attributed to the study of geography, and the academic rate (high and low), whereas the variables like specialization (arts, education) and the study level (second, and fourth) did not show the same significance. Based on the study results, recommendations were made. (Published abstract)
