This study aimed at evaluating the teaching performance of student teachers at the College of Education, Taibah University in Madinah, KSA in light of some teacher preparation criteria. To achieve this purpose, the descriptive analytic method was used. A list of skills needed for the student teachers was designed in light of seven teacher preparation criteria. These criteria are as follows: lesson planning, class management and interaction with students, using teaching methods and strategies, using instructional technology, personality traits and human relationships, mastering the subject matter, and evaluating student learning. A checklist was prepared for observing the student-teachers teaching performance in light of the seven criteria that were determined. Participants of this study were 50 student teachers of different science and literary majors at the College of Education, Taibah University in Medinah. The following results were reached: 1) designing a list of 64 teaching skills needed for student-teachers in light of seven teacher preparation criteria. 2) The teaching performance of student-teachers at the College of Education, Taibah University in Medinah who participated in this study was moderate in six criteria and was good in only one criterion dealing with human relationships. 3) There was a significant difference at 0.01 level of significance in the total teaching performance between students majoring in literary sections and those majoring in science sections in favor of those majoring in science sections.
