The effectiveness of using a web-based site in accordance with the constructivist and behavioral theory in developing self-learning skills and the trend towards it among students in educational technology [Article]
Web-based learning is considered one of the resources that can be used in educational technology, which led to developing a kind of educational technology based on digital information revolution, interactive multimedia and distance (remote connectivity) technology. And it means a way or method of teaching and learning using educational web-sites and mechanisms of modern communication represented in the computer and its networks and multimedia (voice, image and graphics), search engines/mechanisms, electronic libraries, and the use of technology of all kinds in delivering information to the learner in the shortest time, with less effort, and with the greatest benefit. Web-based learning is considered one of the modern educational techniques and one of the practices that work on the development of education and the increase of number of students. The current research aims at identifying the effectiveness of Web-based learning in developing self-learning and developing the trend towards web-based learning among students of the third year, Division of Educational Technology, Faculty of Specific Education-Banha University. Research Tools: The researcher prepared the following tools: Assessment card of self-learning skills. A measure of the trend towards the use of web-site. Research Results: There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of students in the assessment card of self-learning skills of students of the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group. There is a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of students in the measure of the trend towards the use of web-based learning for students of the experimental group and the control group in favor of the experimental group.
