إن الأفراد والمجتمعات بحاجة إلى قوانين وتشريعات تنظم حياتهم وتضبط العلاقات فيما بينهم. وإن الأنظمة والتشريعات التي تنظم التربية الخاصة تعتبر أكثر دقة وأكثر تعقيدا من قوانين التعليم العام نظر إلى تنوع فئاتها وكثرة احتياجاتها لذلك تعطي بعض الدول المزيد من الاهتمام لهذه الفئة. يهدف هذا البحث للتعرف على مدى معرفة العاملين مع ذوي الإعاقة بالقوانين والتشريعات ذات العلاقة بالتربية الخاصة والتزامهم بتطبيقها. حيث إنه يستهدف عددا من المعلمين والمشرفين العاملين مع ذوي الإعاقة في المملكة العربية السعودية. وقد خلص البحث إلا أن المعلمين والمشرفين لم يكن لديهم برامج تأهيلية في القوانين والأنظمة ذات العلاقة بالتربية الخاصة. كما أن النتائج أوضحت بجلاء أن معظم العاملين في التربية الخاصة يرون أنهم ليسوا متمكنين من أنظمة وتشريعات التربية الخاصة مع أن البعض منهم لديه خبرة في المجال تفوق السبع سنوات. Individuals and societies need legislation that regulate their lives and control relations between them. Legislations that regulate special education are more accurate and complex than the laws of public education, given the diversity of their classes and the large number of their needs. Therefore, some countries give more attention to these students. This article aims to identify the extent to which teachers who work with disabilities have knowledge of laws and legislation related to special education and their commitment to implementing. This study targets several teachers and supervisors who work with students with disabilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The research concluded, however, that teachers and supervisors are not have qualification programs in laws and regulations related to special education. The results also clearly showed that even though some of them have experience in the field more than seven years, most workers in special education showed that they are not proficient in the legislation of special education.
