The aim of the research was to identify the effectiveness of a program based on emotional construction on developing the altruism among the mentally handicapped siblings and to reveal the continuity of the program's effectiveness after its completion a month. A sample consisted of (30) siblings (14 males + 16 females) Of children with mentally handicapped at Ahmed Shawki School of Intellectual Education in the Department of Educational Center in Alexandria, and the age range of siblings ranged between (17-22) years with an average age of (18.65) years and a standard deviation (± 3.41). The researcher used the experimental method. Sequential Arrays of Color (IQ Test) by Raven, Translation by Abd al-Fattah al-Qurashi (1987), and the altruism for mentally handicapped siblings (prepared by the researcher) Case and study and diagnostic interview form, in addition the training program based on emotional construction (prepared by the researcher), and the study reached the following results: 1) There were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of siblings of mentally handicapped children between the measures: the pre and post of altruism scale for the benefit of post, and thus the effectiveness of the program based on emotional construction in the developing of altruism for mentally handicapped siblings. 2) There were not statistically significant differences between the mean scores of siblings of mentally handicapped children between the post and follow-up of the altruism, and thus the continuity of the effectiveness of the program based on emotional construction in the developing of altruism for mentally handicapped siblings. 3) There was a set of factors behind the decline of altruism in the case of peripheral of mentally handicapped siblings in the light of the psychometric and clinical measure used in the current study.
