The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of using of the virtual laboratory on the achievement of upper preparatory students in physics in Jordan in and compare it to the conventional method as well as investigating if the effect of the virtual laboratory on achievement varies according to experience in using educational technology programs. The study took place during the first semester of the academic year 2016/2017 on ninth grade students at Abdullah Bin Massoud Secondary School for Boys, affiliated with the Directorate of Education in Russeifa, Jordan. The study adopted the semi-experimental method through implementing the purposive sampling. The study sample was divided randomly into two groups: experimental group (20 students) who applied the virtual laboratory, and control group (20 students) who a utilized the conventional laboratory method of teaching. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher developed both an achievement test that covered the instructional material. Both validity and reliability were verified and established through the proper scientific methods. The results of the study indicated that there were no statistical significant differences at (α=0.05) on test achievement according to the method of instruction (virtual laboratory, conventional method), and experience in using educational technology program (high, medium, Low). The study concludes with recommending conducting further studies on the impact of virtual laboratory on students, optimal use of virtual laboratory in teaching physics, in order to increase the motivation and achievement among students.
