The purpose of this study was to examine psychometric properties of the Arabic version of the Big Five Inventory (BFI) in Kuwait. This study used independent samples with a total of (2913) undergraduates (male=13248, female=1589) from Kuwait University student in order to assess reliability, validity, gender differences, and the correlation between the Inventory Factors. The scale split-half consistency ranged from 0.73 - 0.40, while alpha Cronbach coefficients ranged between 0.31and 0.71. The test-retest coefficient ranged from 0.49 - 0.86. The construct validity of the scale has been examined through multiple methods: explanatory factor analysis, convergent and divergent validity, criterion validity. The explanatory factor analysis of BFI led to the extraction of five factors: Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Consciousness, Agreeableness. Significant gender differences were reported, where females scored higher than males on Neuroticism, Openness to Experience and Agreeableness, while males received higher scores than females on Extraversion.
